STUART ROSS READING IN NELSON MAY 9

§

The inimitable Stuart Ross is in the Kootenays and is coming to Nelson for one night only to do a reading at Oxygen Art Centre at 7PM, Wednesday, May 9.

Stuart last read in Nelson in 2005. He's a wonderful poet, with great stories to tell, like how, back in the seventies and eighties, he used to sell his self-published chapbooks on the streets of Toronto. (I bought poetry from people on the streets of Toronto in the seventies, but I can't say for sure any of it was Stuart's). He still calls Toronto home, but nevertheless he does manage to get to the Koots fairly often. Often enough to have developed a fondness for borscht.

He has a fun and poetry-focused blog.

He'll be reading from his new poetry collection with a typically irreverent Stuart title: I Cut My Finger.

Joining him will be local writers Judy Wapp, Bobbie Ogletree, Nicola Harwood and Linda Crosfield.

Like it says on the poster, Be There!

OK, this is the BEST and most irreverent poster anyone's ever made for one of my readings! I'm so glad to be back in the Kootenays! Honoured and looking forward to reading with you and Judy and Nicola and Bobbie.

Thanks, Linda!
